A substantial and commanding piece

This was created from an image in my imagination where a tear in space allows us the viewers a peek into another planetary system containing solar flares ,black holes (and with the little additions of inlaid Brass) shooting stars . The whole surface has been textured in different ways with the entire edge and planets being ebonised as well .

“The Planets” has been made using a single piece of English Ash nicknamed “Olive Ash” due to the areas of different colour and grain movement being similar to that of the Olive wood you might find in places such as Spain or Greece . This piece of Ash was specifically chosen for this sculpture . This will be the very first thing anybody sees when entering the room where it hangs
