Shipping Policy

In-stock items will usually be posted within 3 days of receiving your order (depending on whether I have an event on at the time). If I need to make the item, it will typically take 3-4 weeks to get your order ready; I will let you know about the expected timescale. (I can send photos by email if you would like to see progress.) My prices include shipping to UK addresses; I don’t usually ship overseas.

Refund Policy

I pack the work very carefully but accidents can still happen. If items have been damaged in transit please send photographs of the damage to the item – and to the packaging – within 5 days of receipt. I will usually ask you to return it to me; I will refund the postage cost. As each piece is made individually, it may not be possible to replace it with something identical although a similar piece, or a repair, may be possible. If you are not satisfied with your order for another reason – see my cancellation/return/exchange policy – please get in touch within 5 days of delivery.

Cancellation / Return / Exchange Policy

Please make sure you really want the items as I am unable to offer ‘sale or return’; if you need more photos or a chat to help with your decision, just let me know; I want you to be completely happy with the work you are buying. If I am making items to your specific requirements I will be happy to send photos regularly throughout the design and make process so you can be reassured that it will be what you wanted. For stock items you can cancel an order until the point at which I post it by contacting me directly. If, when you receive the stock items, you really can’t use them, please contact me within 5 days of delivery and we can discuss the options. Custom-made items and commissions cannot usually be cancelled after I have started making them, but please contact me immediately as I may not yet have incurred much cost and we can discuss the options. Similarly, custom-made items and commissions cannot usually be returned unless I have made a mistake or there has been shipping damage. If we agree that you will return any items, I will ask you to arrange and pay for their return. An exchange may be offered, with charges or refunds if the price is different; if this is not possible a refund, less handling charges, will be given. These terms do not affect your statutory rights.

I have always loved to make things but, in recent times, I found that my business activities offered limited opportunities to get my hands dirty.

After a period of ill health led me to re-evaluate my life priorities, I built a fused glass studio in Cambridge and developed my skills and practice. I now exhibit all-round the area (and beyond) at art and craft events including Craft In Focus, through specialist galleries, and at Craft In Focus online.

I design and make my own coloured and patterned glass, using a variety of techniques, to give the widest possible pallet of colours, shapes and textures. I love the interplay of light with translucent, opalescent, iridised and dichroic glass especially when I can melt different glasses, powders and enamels together to create new shapes, colours and forms. I take inspiration from the world around me – and from the colours, swirls and shapes within the glass itself.

I mostly produce fused glass art pieces, particularly birds and the natural world as I find that glass lends itself very well to capturing their colours and textures, whether natural and realistic or with a distinctive artistic twist to the colours and patterns.

I also very much enjoy making a few ornaments and items of tableware and jewellery from time to time.

I love to experiment and try new things; the engineer in me enjoys the technical challenges of working with new techniques and materials, and the artist in me is always exploring new ways of using glass to create different forms and shapes and to enhance the natural shapes and textures within the glass itself.

I have developed techniques for turning flat ‘2D’ glass sheet into pieces with more depth, from ‘2½D’ to full 3D work. I also work hard to infuse my work with a distinctive character or personality; please have a look at my work here at Craft In Focus online, and via my website www.limned.glass and Instagram page www.instagram.com/limnedglass
