Description
Medium length indoor/outdoor coffee table with Lisa’s “Primordial Soup” glass centre, and framed by patinated & lacquered brass panels, all set in a wrought iron frame sandblasted and painted with several etch-coatings. “Kite” corners. 54cm x 96.5cm x 48cm tall.
Lisa’s Primordial Soup Glass designs have been “evolving” for 20 years, based on her keen involvement with biological illustration, especially under the microscope, and how life forms within float together in a slow motion, transparent world.
She uses a staged layering technique with multiple glass, metal and chemical inclusions, creating a “painterly collage” that has detail, depth and movement. The result is kiln fired together, often several times, to create a single unit.
Colin employs his many years of welding and ironworking experience to make the frame, grinding all welds to make them invisible. His clever design means the glass is supported evenly, and set in with silicon for shock absorption. All furniture feet have screwed-on rubber bumpers, to preserve your wooden floor.
