Sky Pebbles

Original lino print

Image size: 295mm x 295mm

This piece is an original multiblock lino print, using two hand-carved lino blocks and printed manually on good quality 620mm x 490mm paper using an antique Victorian hand printing press. It is sold unframed and unmounted, signed by the artist in pencil with edition number and title at the foot of the print.
This print depicts a small pool of water-worn pebbles in a burn on the side of Ben Nevis in Scotland. The impression of dynamic fluidity is achieved by printing a semi-transparent violet-blue coloured layer over an underlying charcoal coloured foundation layer, so as to give the illusion of three interplaying colours flickering across the pebbles on the bottom of the pool.

Shipping Policy

Delivered by Royal Mail parcel second class post in a 20cm diameter cardboard roll for larger prints (smaller diameter cardboard rolls for smaller prints) packed in archival quality tissue paper. If special arrangements are required for receipt, please make them known when ordering. Otherwise, cost of postage and packing for UK deliveries is included in price shown. Please enquire for cost of postage and packing outside UK, which may increase price shown. Estimated delivery within approximately 10 days, subject to Royal Mail or other courier, and holidays. The seller accepts no responsibility for damage to the package or the print after it has been consigned to the post. Sometimes, deliveries can be made by hand by the artist, but these are not made regularly as they depend on sufficient orders being placed in the same area and it is likely they will take longer to arrive than postal consignment. However, if you would prefer hand delivery and don't mind waiting, please enquire. Following delivery, careful removal from the roll and packaging is recommended, after which the print should be left to unroll of its own accord on a large flat surface at room temperature and within normal domestic relative humidity parameters. This may take a day or two. Flattening with weights is not recommended, as it could damage the print, leading to creasing, warping or discolouration. As all prints are individually made, colours or details may differ from photograph.
