The House Name is deep carved into the slate, then painted with a choice of either White, Off White, Grey or Cream paint. Painting inside the letters/numbers ensures the inscription is visible in all weathers.
The signs come pre-drilled with a 5mm hole in each corner. Fixings are not supplied.
Generally regarded as one of the finest slates in the World, Welsh Slate has been used for centuries on all kinds of buildings, including the likes of St Pancreas and Kings Cross Stations, Buckingham Palace, as well as Number 10 Downing Street. It is typically 12mm thick, though it can be up to 16mm, with visible graining and a smooth surface. Welsh Grey Slate is quarried from the Cwt-y-Bugail Quarry above Ffestiniog in North Wales.
As this is a natural product, variation in colour and appearance should be expected.
